Brooks Koepka lands into a controversy on Day 1 of the Masters 2023
Despite performing well, Koepka’s day 1 ended on a controversial note at The Masters. As Koepka reached the 550-yard hole, he was four under for the round.
He hit the green in two and secured a birdie with a two-putt. However, TV cameras captured his caddie, Rickie Elliott, appearing to disclose the club selection to another player’s caddie, Brennan Little, as Elliott mouthed “five” twice, suggesting Koepka had used a five-iron for the shot. This sparked suspicions of a possible rules violation on social media.
