How many kids does Andy Murray have and who is his wife? A Rare Glimpse Into HIs Private Life

Tennis fans might be wondering how many kids Andy Murray has as Wimbledon gets underway…

How many kids does Andy Murray have is the question being asked by many tennis fans now that the Scottish tennis ace has returned to Wimbledon.

Once world number one, Andy Murray remains a formidable opponent to face on the court – as French player Arthur Cazaux knows all-too well after being beaten by him at the Nottingham Tennis Centre in the leadup to Wimbledon 2023.

Now that the start of the tournament is just weeks away – though many have been wondering why Wimbledon is late this year – tennis fans want to know more about the players’ personal life, from whether fellow Brit Cam Norrie is married to how many kids Andy Murray has

How many kids does Andy Murray have?
Andy Murray has four children: Sophia, Edie, Teddie and their youngest son who was born in 2021 and is yet to be named publicly. His eldest, Sophia, was born in 2016, a year after the Murray’s married, with Edie following in November 2017 and their first son Teddy was welcomed in 2019.

In March 2021, Andy Murray decided to pull out of the ATP Tour event in Dubai after the arrival of his fourth child, so he could stay at home with his newborn baby. The arrival of his and Kim’s fourth child was kept under wraps and the couple has generally preferred to keep all of their children out of the media spotlight.

However, that doesn’t mean proud dad Andy hasn’t ever opened up about his kids. Speaking about his busy home life with wife Kim and their children, Andy told ITV daytime star Alison Hammond that he loves their everyday family routine.

As revealed by The Mirror, he explained, “Seeing the kids sitting at the table behaving and eating their food and going to bed at the right time, those sort of things make me proud.”

He went on to reveal more about his eldest child, Sophia, who it seems is already following in her famous father’s footsteps with a love of tennis.

“My eldest daughter plays once a week and if she wanted to I’d be happy but at their ages it’s important to be doing stuff with their friends,” he said.

Who is Andy Murray’s wife?
Andy Murray is married to Kim Murray (née Sears), who he reportedly met back 2005 when they both attended a party for the US Open. The following year their relationship became public knowledge when Andy gave Kim a romantic kiss after securing his first tournament victory in California.

Even before she met her future husband, however, Kim was no stranger to the world of tennis. Her father Nigel Sears is a tennis coach who has worked with players that include Ana Ivanovic and Daniela Hantuchova.

A decade after their first meeting, Andy and Kim married in 2015 at Dunblane Cathedral in Scotland. Despite Andy being incredibly well-known by this point, it’s understood that the couple chose to keep their nuptials small, with few celebrities and their nearest and dearest family members and friends.

For her special day Kim wowed in a crystal-encrusted dress that was reportedly designed by one of the Duchess of Cambridge’s favourite designers – Jenny Packham. Featuring a full skirt, three-quarter-length sleeves and an embellished waist detail, Kim Murray’s wedding outfit was a show-stopper.

A regular fixture at Wimbledon over the years, Kim has shared the crowd’s delight and devastation at her husband’s victories and losses.

Whilst Andy Murray might be accustomed to playing around the world by now, it seems Kim and their kids are never far from the former World Number One’s mind. Opening up in an emotional post-match speech after the Sydney Tennis Classic earlier in 2022, Andy revealed just how much he missed them.

“First time back in the finals for three years, it’s been a long road to get back here but I couldn’t have done it without your help, so thank you,” he declared. “I’d also like to thank my family back home. I don’t know if you were watching but I miss you all.”

Now Kim Murray will no doubt be anxiously awaiting Andy’s first match at Wimbledon 2023.

How many times has Andy Murray won Wimbledon?
Andy Murray has won Wimbledon twice, with his first victory back in 2013. On this occasion, the Scottish star beat Novak Djokovic in straight sets despite being seeded 2nd to Novak’s 1st.

His second time as Wimbledon champion came three years later in 2016 when he once again secured a straight sets win, this time over Milos Raonic. He also reached the Wimbledon Men’s Singles final another time in 2012, when he lost to Roger Federer.

Within a few weeks of his devastating defeat, Andy Murray went on to beat Roger in the Men’s Singles event at the 2012 London Olympics.
