Tennis has seen several father-daughter teams emerge throughout its history, establishing and realizing their shared goals.
However, there are certain instances where fans misrepresent the father-daughter relationship on the tennis court. In a similar vein, Camila Giorgi’s father, Sergio Giorgi, recently experienced a great deal of hatred due to his actions.
However, the 31-year-old tennis player spoke out in support of her father and made a statement about her relationship with him, who also serves as her coach.
Over the years, many tennis father-daughter teams have experienced similar issues in the past, including the 18-time Grand Slam champion Chris Evert and her father, Jimmy Evert.
Camila Giorgi defines her relationship with her dad
According to the official Twitter handle of Tennis Letter, Giorgi denied all the baseless allegations that were made against her father, pointing out the negative side of being a tennis dad.
Not only that, she shut down the haters who spread rumors about her father trying to control her professional life as a tennis player. Along with that, she also defined the trust that she has in her father.
“They say he controls me. False. I dedicate every success to him. He’s always trained me, he believed in me from the beginning: I owe him everything. It’s not true that he asks me to play til I’m 40. I have no restrictions. The last word is always mine,” she said.
