Daniel Ricciardo is rumored to continue with AlphaTauri in 2024
Ricciardo's teammate Yuki Tsunoda will also be reportedly reprising his role with AlphaTauri next season.
Daniel Ricciardo had one of the most buzzworthy returns to F1 with AlphaTauri. He was brought in to replace the brutally sacked rookie Nyck de Vries. While Ricciardo hasn’t scored any points in his two races, expectations are still high for the Australian. His plans for the future remain uncertain, but there have been reports on where he might be next season.
It has been no secret that Ricciardo aims for Sergio Perez’s seat at Red Bull. While Perez did go out of form for a few races this season, it will still not be enough for Ricciardo to usurp his seat. Ricciardo will have to prove himself with AlphaTauri first before dreaming of making a return to Red Bull.
F1 Correspondent & Presenter Lawrence Barretto has reported that Ricciardo will most likely be racing for AlphaTauri next season, following statements from Christian Horner and Helmut Marko labeling Perez’s seat as untouchable in 2024.
Former Ferrari sporting director Laurent Mekies will be coming in as the new team principal for Alpha Tauri, and Red Bull will also increase its direct control on many of AlphaTauri’s operations from 2024. As AlphaTauri undergo many reformations, staying with them might be more favorable to Ricciardo than he might expect.
