Andy Murray wins fight for hotel cabins after wildlife fears

Wimbledon champion’s plan for nine chalets at Cromlix hotel had been opposed by campaigners worried about the impact on breeding birds, frogs and toads

Sir Andy Murray has won a battle with wildlife campaigners over plans to build woodland cabins in the grounds of his hotel.

The double Wimbledon champion wants to put up nine chalets for guests at Cromlix hotel near Dunblane.

The Scottish Wildlife Trust opposed the plan citing the effect it will have on breeding birds, frogs and toads.

The charity said the siting of the cabins near to a pond was inappropriate and claimed the peaceful environment for wildlife would be ruined by the development.
